Many people know Queensland as the “sunshine state”. The climate ranges a lot from one part of the state to the other. In the inner lands there are warm and sunny days and cold and frosty nights. The influence of the monsoons can be felt during the wet season – from December to March. In the north the rainfall is high – up to 4000mm annually. In Brisbane the rainfall is around 1200mm while in the south-west parts it can be about 200mm.
