Bundaberg General Tourist info

Bundaberg is situated on 384 kilometers (238 miles) North of Brisbane and 1439 km (892 miles) South of Cairns with about 44000 urban inhabitants. This small and cozy, but progressive town is the closest to the most southern point of the Great Barrier Reef. If you visit the area between November and March, don’t miss to visit the Mon Repos Turtle Rookery. Divers would surely want to take in some of Australia's best shore diving right off the Bundaberg's magic beaches. The Burnett River flows through Bundaberg and divides the town in two. A road bridge, restored in heritage colors and rail bridge cross the river from the center of the town to North Bundaberg.
