Gladstone General Tourist Info
Gladstone lies 550 kilometers (340 miles) North of Brisbane and 1162 (720 miles) South of Cairns. This industrial port town is the departure spot for magically beautiful Heron Island. The town is also home to the delicious mud crab, most tasteful with a glass of wine at the award-winning Flinders Seafood Restaurant. About twenty-five kilometers (16 miles) south of Gladstone (off the Bruce Highway) are the twin beach towns of Boyne Island and Tannum Sands, which are worth to be visited.
