Tennant Creek is a famous town in the Northern Territory of Australia. Tourist attractions have made this town famous and that is why many people like visiting the same. It comprises of a population of about 3500 but the number is likely to increase when more visitors arrive to this place. It is described as a Territory’s heart of gold simply because it has a history of gold mining which took place some time back. It is located in the central Australia, 500km north of Alice Springs and 100km South of Darwin. The town is surrounded to the East by the Barkly Table Lands. There are many attractions around this area and visitors come in plenty either from the continent of Australia or outside from other continents who come as tourists. Some of these attractions are situated along the main highways in that people can be able to observe them while travelling. We have the Telegraph Station along the Stuart Highway which is a must see. We also have Aboriginal culture and the Devils Marbles site which is located about 100km south of the town. The Nyinkka Nyunyu Culture Centre in Tennant Creek is an aboriginal attraction that educates people more about art and craft.

 

Travelling to Tennant Creek is actually very easy since the town is situated in a strategic position where every means of transport can be used to avail to such a place. People can reach to this place by air. Flights are available on Tuesdays and Thursdays from Darwin to this destination. It is also easy to avail yourself to this place by car whereby people are able to hire cars at Alice Springs or in Darwin where they have a short and save journey to this destination. Travelling by bus is also possible whereby one can use Greyhound bus services which operate trips to Tennant Creek. These buses us the highway between Adelaide and Darwin with a stop in Alice Springs and then proceed to reach this destination. The other means of transport is by train. The Ghan train which passes through this destination twice can be used. People are supposed to book the train in advance so that they do not miss it.
There are many attractions in Tennant Creek of the Northern Territory which entertain visitors. We have the Bill Allen Look Out which actually offers a 360 degree view across the landscape. It should be noted that the best view can be during the sunset. We have the Devils Marbles Conservation Reserve. These are clusters of the mysterious rocks and are located in the scenic Australian Desert. People believe that these marbles are the eggs of the Rainbow Serpent. The nearest town offers accommodation services for the visitors who come to watch these wonders of the nature. Camping is also permitted around this place with a reasonable fee.
