For those who have never been to Wollongong which is in the state of New South Wales Australia, it is located 80km South of Sydney and it is famous due to its amazing tourists attractions, bars, restaurants and culture entertainment. Geographically, Wollongong is defined as a city itself and it is not more than 6km at its widest although it stretches about 4okm from south to north. The growth of this city was actually limited by mountains and sea and this means that it had a potential to grow and become a large city to serve millions of people. This city comprises of some coastal towns right from Dapto up to port Kembla in the South to Bulli. It is characterised by many industries which actually benefit citizens for example the coal mining and steel production. There are also new industries like financial services, Information Technology and Tourism. This makes Wollongong people proud of employment opportunities due to heavy industry in the area.

 

Travelling to Wollongong is very simple since it is an accessible city from all areas of the world. One can travel by train where there are train hourly services between this city and Sydney on the South Coast of City Rail Line. The train is busy during the morning and evening hours where many passengers travel but regardless of the time you need to travel it is very hard to miss a seat while travelling. The train journey is actually a scenic one simply because one can watch many wonders while comfortably seated. The train travels through the Royal National Park with views of the ocean and also the rain forest. One can enjoy to the maximum since the train takes about 90 minutes non-stop and this is actually enough time to view the scene.
Wollongong in New South Wales is serviced by scheduled airline flights which are domestic and international. They operate from Sydney Airport to the north of the city. It should be noted that you can get to Wollongong by car from Sydney which is about 60minutes while travelling along the Princess Highway. There are many signs from the airport that you can follow so that you do not confuse your way to Princes Highway. People also walk right from the train station to the Wollongong CBD and also down to Wollongong City Beach.
There are many attractions in Wollongong in New South Wales. We have the Sports Stadium which hosts rugby leagues and soccer. The entertainment centre is actually situated to the north of the stadium and hosts sports and many special events. There is also Port Kembla Steel Works whose entrance is marked with large Australian and Blue Scope Steel flags. It is actually located 80km south of Sydney around Kembla. This plant with steelmaking capacity of 5million per year attracts many people. We also have Wollongong Botanical Gardens located adjacent to Wollongong University. There is also Mnnamurra Rainforest which is along Jamboree mount road.
