In the lowlands where is Canberra, there are frequent strong winds, 630mm annual rainfall and even snowfalls. The average maximum temperature is around 19°C and the average minimum - 7°C.
In the mountain slopes there is heavier rainfall, but it is not fairly distributed throughout the year.
The rainfall in the uplands and mountain ridges is the heaviest – up to 1500mm annually. There are frequent snowfalls and in winter the temperature is below zero.
